Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Parental Rights for Fathers

What is my husband's rights for a child he concieved previous to our marriage? The mother placed him on childsupport and then took him off because she did not want him around. Now, he has a better job, and she is seeking support which we don't mind paying, but when he tries to see the child she says no because she does not want him around.

Re: Parental Rights for Fathers

Your husband has a right to visitation whether or not he is ordered to pay child support. The mother of the child is also entitled to child support if she requests it.

Your husband should consult with an attorney as soon as possible if he would like to have visitation rights.
