Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
People having children after being deemed unfit.
My friend and I heard about a case in Texas somewhere. The woman in the case has had several children taken away. She doesn't come out and say it, but we are pretty sure she has been deemed unfit by the courts. I was wondering what, if any, restrictions there are on someone who has been deemed an unfit parent to one or more child, then having more children. Is there a certain amount of time they are told they cannot conceive, or are they free to begin trying having more children as soon as they get home, so to speak. And how do the laws on this matter differ from state to state? Thanks.

Re: People having children after being deemed unfit.
There is no law in Louisiana prohibiting a mother, or father, from having more children after a court has terminated their parental rights to another child. A prior termination is one of the grounds for termination of parental rights to a subsequent child, but there first has to be independent grounds for removing the subsequent child from the custody of the parent(s) before the prior termination can be used against them.
