Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Probating a will and burial rights

My Mother is getting remarried in two weeks and has never probated a will she had with my father. He past away over 13 years ago. I also want to know what my rights are regarding where I lay her to rest. Her future husband wants to cremate her and I do not want that to happen. I want her to be laid to rest beside my father.

Re: Probating a will and burial rights

Even though you did not ask, you should open your father's succession if you think you have something coming to you. Your mom should write a will and put in there what she wants as far as burial is concerned, otherwise, the husband probably will have the last say so. And if your mother does not care, drop it.
