Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
property
a couple purchased a home and then the husband passed away and left no will.the living spouse needs work done in the home but she cant get a loan to fix it unless both kids sign that its ok for her to. does she have to have their signature?

The loan company says yes and that is all that counts. Living spouse owns 50% of the home as her community property, and has the use of the other 50%. However, the 2 kids each "own" 1/2 of that other 50%. So, wife 50% ownership.....kid 1, 25% and kid 2, 25%.
