Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Property Settlement

I received a petition for a property settlement. It says I have 15 days to respond with a list of all the property in my possession. The list my ex-husband filled out is not the same as mine. The property he listed were not in the condition that he stated they were. He listed items that are not in my possession. When we separated in 2000. I had to sell some of the items for moving expenses since I had no money due to my having to pay the mortgage on the house by myself. Do I list this fact on the list of items? I also do not have any money to pay for court fees so can I sell the items I have and give him his half without having to go to court?

Re: Property Settlement

If your descriptive list and his disagree, that just means that you disagree. Put your own value on things.

A lawyer will probably save you money at this point.
