Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Providing for my son

I have joint visitation of my son. My ex wife has domicillary custody. Since I pay the full amount of child support required, do I have to provide diapers, clothes and such when I have him? Isn't she responsible for this since I pay? If so, what code is this pursuant to?

Re: Providing for my son

In general, the child support guidleines presume there will

be joint custody and visitation therefore when the non-domicilliary

parent has the child the parent also has to provide food clothing

shelter etc during visitation. BUT, recently the courts

have recognized in pure JOINT PHYSICAL CUSTODY cases

that the guidleines should be adjusted to account

for the joint sharing of custody. It would depend

on the visitation schedule, the means of each party

and the jurisdiction you are in.
