Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I recently received a judgment from a district court judge for my spouse whom I am divorcing to pay child support and spousal support and have it "income attached"/garnished. The judgement also made this support retroactive back to May 2009. I have begun receiving payments from his employer on the support payments but his lawyer is making my lawyer get an executory judgment for the arrears that he owes. What is an executory judgement exactly???
