Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I recently was given temporary guardianship of a 15 year old. I would like to adopt him permanently. His birth mother is deceased and he was being raised by his grandmother who was awarded custody by the court. The grandmother is ok with the adoption however we are unsure how to move forward. Should I get an adoption attorney in order to take the next steps?

Go to an attorney experienced in adoption. Without knowing more information, like where the father is in all this, I am guessing the child will have live with you for 1 year or 6 months according to the circumstances.
