Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

No repsonse from hired attorney

I hired an attorney who started divorce proceedings on my behalf. He should have already gone back to get this finalized and never has and has never drawn up the property settlement after I sent him all requested documentation on our house, etc. I have called and left messages and also emailed and have never gotten a response. I do not have the money to hire another attorney to complete this process. I was wondering if it is possible to finish these proceedings on our own and how I may go about doing so. also, if there is anything I should or can do concerning my attorney.

Re: No repsonse from hired attorney

I always tell people in your position to call the attorney and leave a message that if you do not hear from him personally by (put in a date certain) that you will report him to the State Bar Association. That usually always works. If not, call the Bar Association in Baton Rouge.
