What are the requirements in Louisiana to establish a domicile? And how do I determine the first date in which the time period starts?

Domicile is residence with the intent to stay permanently in the state. Evidence of domicile would include things like registering to vote, changing your driver's license, buying a home, and similar evidence of an intent to remain permanently. For example when a college student goes away for college in another town or state, the student may be a resident of that state/town where the college is, but the student remains a domiciliary of his or her hometown, because the student has no intent to stay there permanently.

As to calculating when residency/domiciliary status starts, it starts on the day you move in.
