Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
am i responsible for my soon to be ex spouses medical bills? i never gave the hosptial any of my information for them to see if i qualified for medical insurance, my spouse shows up with a medical bill stated i have to pay it. this is where i question the bill. the only spot where my name is at is in the address part where the hosptial sent the bill too, than you have the part underneath that with the lines where you tear off the bill, the bill has her name "patients name" and the cost. since i never gave any information im under the impressing the bill is in her name, except for the part where she put my name and an address. heres where it gets confusing too. The address she used for the hospital bill to is not my postal address but her and her fiancee's address, she is trying to claim that my address, but she really just had the hosptial mail the bill to her house and not to my actual postal address. is that illegal for her to do since that isnt my mailing address and she is trying to lie about it? and does anyone have an idea if im responsible for her medical bills?

You both are responsible for any bills incurred during the community. If these medical bills were incurred after the divorce was filed, you are not responsible unless a court order says differently.
