Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

What rights do I have? I had a child with someone who was married. The person she was married to is listed as the father on the birth certificate.. They are now divorced and my son thinks of this guy as his father too, this guy has also filed for custody of my son. It is common knowldge that I am the father. I've even paid child support to his mother. And my son visits and stays with me from time to time. Do I have any rights? I live in lousiana and the other guy lives in south carolina.

Since the Zip code you listed is for SC, I am not sure who you are. So if you are the divorced dad or the mother you need to be honest about it. The law of the domicile of the child is what controls. I am in LA and have a feeling it is SC law you want. If not. Write or ask the question with more details.
