Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My Rights as stay at home fiancee' caregiver to an alcoholic business profession

I was a professional woman that fell in love with an alcoholic and manic depressant man. I had to quit my job in order to help him try to recover from his disease. He moved into my home that I rented and lived there approx. 6 months, then he bought a house which we still reside. Now the relationship has deterorated drastically, and the house is in his name. I have no job, or income......but want very much to get out and start a new life. My question is: what rights do I have as to income, since I quit my job to help him recover? Or, do I have no rights since we were only engaged and not legally married to one another. HELP!

In Louisiana (and most other states) you have virtually no rights to the property of a non-spouse.
