Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Is it safe to open a joint bank account with my fianc�, considering he's paying child support to his ex wife? Could she be granted an increase based on the combined salaries?

I think it is unwise because it is not community property but is co-mingled money. Child support is normally calculated based on the incomes of the parents. Usually employment records are used. Mixing your money is unwise but the reasons have nothing to do with the mother of his children,
