Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
My ex and I separated in January of 2010 but he filed the actual paperwork in April of 2010. I am in the military and about to be deployed for 6 months beginning in April. Is there a way to backdate the timeline to January to fulfill the 365 day time limit to finalize the divorce? Is it true that he is the only one who can inititate that change or is there someway I can initiate that change?

You can refile a 103 divorce which means you have been separated for 6 months and are seeking a divorce. Divorces now take 180 days not 365 days unless you have a covenant marriage.
