Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Seperation/divorce

My husband and I are seperated after he drained the bank account and wrote some hot checks. I opened my own seperate account. He gets disability and had them change it so his check gets depositedin my account. He said he did that so I could fix his mess up. The money got deposited and now he says if I spend it he will have me arrested. Can he do that? We live in a comunity property state.

Re: Seperation/divorce

Manipulative people say incorrect things all the time. I see no crime in spending the money he put in your account.

If your divorce is already filed your bank account is your separate property. If it is not filed use the money to pay bills or to hire a lawyer for your divorce.
