Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My spouse and I grew up in Louisiana. He moved to New York. When I finished college we married in Louisiana and our marital domicile was New York. After a year or so I decided that the marriage is not really what I wanted. I moved back to Louisiana. My spouse would visit occasionally to visit me and my son. I decided in 1990 that I was done. We never lived together as husband and wife in Louisiana. I purchased property in 1995. I filed for divorce in Louisiana. Would the property I purchased be considered to be community property.

When bought the property in 1995? I assume you were in Louisiana. When did you file for divorce? The property is probably community, but because of your special circumstances, his interest is probably minimal.
