Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

out of state visitations

I have a 2 year old daughter whose father is requesting out of state visits. He has not fulfilled the prior visitations, which were every other weekend supervised visits. He feels that because he recently married, it will be easier to get the ruling in his favor. he was a very short tempered, and abusive person when things didn't go his way.I fear for my child's wellbeing.the only person she has known as her father is my ex-husband who I'm still with at this time.I need advice on what I can do.

Re: out of state visitations

Unless he gets a Court Order changing the prior visitation order he is not entitled to more visitation.

Contact a lawyer in (or near) your community about the reasonableness (all cases are different and it will require more information than this forum allows) of terminating visitation.

The man you live with is your "ex-husband" who loves your daughter. If things are good between you (and I cannot answer this because it is a personal, not a legal matter), and you choose to re-marry, then discuss with a lawyer whether a step-parent adoption is reasonable.
