Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My stepdaughter lives in honduras but is coming in december to te usa to live with her dad and i. How do i get guardianship or what not because my hisband is not decoumented and i cant make decisions for her if im not guardian so how do i get guardianship or whatnot to do her school things and doctor
