Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Stop traveling out of state because of no contact with mother
I just recently agreed to give my ex-husband partial custody during the summer vacation, every other week. One stipulation that I asked for was that I could call the children once a day. He took the children to Texas this weekend, I told him I would call between 5 and 6 pm. He said to call his cell phone. I did and his phone was off. I tried the place they were supposed to be and left a message, I tried till after 9 pm. I still haven't heard from them. Can I stop him from taking them out of the state? And what can do to get him to understand communication is important.

I don't know if your agreement was in a Court Order or if it was an informal compromise.
If it was an informal compromise, then you may revert to the pre-existing court approved plan if you and he cannot solve the problem.
If the change was a court order, was the communication agreement also part of the order? If so he has violated the order and you should discuss this either with your ex or with your attorney. If it is not in the order, then you need to contact the attorney about changing the order (it may require another trip to court).
