Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
succession
My dad pre-deceased his mother. He had a daughter from first marriage who was adopted by ex-wife's new husband. He married second time & had 2 kids. His mother's estate is being settled & daughter from first marriage wants her share. If she was legally adopted by stepfather, does she have a legal claim to his share?

Re: succession
Yes....in Louisiana, and I assume all other states, one advantage of being adopted is that you inherit from your natural family and your adoptive family. She gets her share.
