Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

successions

My mother died and me and my two sisters lived in the house with her, do we have to open up succession or by us living there already is the house automatically ours? (We have 4 brothers and two of them are giving us problem)

Re: successions

Upon the death of your mother without a will, the 3 sisters and 4 brothers each become owners of 1/7 of the property your mother owned.(I am assuming there is not a husband/dad or other kids involved). In order to have the public know who the owners are now, you need to open a succession. Without more details, I believe any one of your siblings can force the sale of the house.
