Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

i am sueing my ex for visitation rights, it was stipulated in divorce paper i was to have joint custody but i never get to see my daughter. i have been paying child support even though it wasnt court ordered. my daughter is in private school. she is 11 now and last year she failed fourth grade. there are plenty of excellent public schools she could go to, now my ex is sueing me for child support and i have to pay for tuition for the private school. if i have to do that i will have to go bankrupt because i do not make enough to pay both and live day by day. please explain the laws concerning private education.

I am not going to explain laws. Go to court and give the hearing officer all of your financial information. Private school is a threat. The law will assign you child support according to your ability to pay. VIsitation and child support are obligations that are not mutually exclusive, so if you are not getting visits, take your ex to court and demand specific visitation rights. Joint custody means that you have JOINT ACCESS to medical information and educational information, it does not mean you get JOINT CONTACT.
