Time needed to file paperwork

Exactly how much time should we give our lawyer to file legal papers decided on in court? We reached a settlement Jan 30, 2002, and he has not sent copies of the paperwork showing exactly what was agreed to...now March 11, 2002. Is there a time limit that we should impose on our lawyer in order to get these documents. We have paid our legal fees. We're just waiting on him! Thanks.

Call his office and get a status report on your papers. Are they drafted? Is he waiting for your ex's lawyer to sign? Are they at the judge's office?

This may not be your lawyer's fault, but you have a right to know what's going on.
