Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Transfer of Guardianship

My husband and I are considering transferring guardianship of our daughter to a close friend of ours for the purpose of education. My questions are: We realize that we are giving our friend permission to make decisions on our daughter's behalf but do we lose the right to make these decisions? Do our parental rights supersede the guardianship?

Re: Transfer of Guardianship

If you go to court and have a Judgment rendered granting your friend custody of your child, then you may very well have given up the right to have final say so......if you do a temporary custody by mandate, then it ends after 1 year or at any time you choose for it to end, whichever comes first.
