Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Visitation rights for unstable father
Me & my ex split up 4 months ago because he was seeing a 15 yr. old behide my back. He's 23. Since then he has lost his job, hanging out with drug dealers, drinking heavily, & taking perscription drugs (I had been suspecting it for a while but had no proof at first). He also has a history of drug abuse. I have not got child support in 2 months & he only visits our daughter every 3 weeks for about an hour (I have a journal of everyday he visits or calls). I filed for custodial parent and he agreed. I can't afford a lawyer, but I want to protect my daughter from a unstable father who is full of disappointment. I would like to have sole custody of her, but I don't know what to do without getting a lawyer. Please give me some good advice to protect my daughter. I do not trust anyone who is a drug abusing child molester. It makes my wonder what kind father will he be to our daugther and clearly his lifestyle is not a good example to her.
