Can the ex wife legally

the husband and wife share custody and she has threatened to carry the children out of the country....can she legally do this without permission and what can be done to stop her...we are afraid she will take them and try to keep them there..she has a boyfriend there and may want to live with him...can we do anything before she does this??

Not having read the judgment concerning custody, I cannot comment on what the ex can do. However, all custody orders in Louisiana are supposed to contain provisions whereby the domiciliary parent cannot move the children outside the State of Louisiana without the other parent's permission, and if that permission cannot be obtained, then the ex is supposed to request permission from the court to move the children. I suggest the father file to either change domiciliary status or to make sure the ex cannot remove the children without getting a court order. Remember though, all court orders are simply pieces of paper.
