Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I am wondering what is the law about terminating the parental rights of a woman? I cant seem to find the statute. How long does there have to be with no communication, phone, visits, emails, letters, nothing, to the child/children before parental rights can be taken from a mother in Louisiana? A year? 6 months?

6 months.......6 consecutive months........check the Louisiana Children's Code. I assume that your current wife wants to adopt. If there is no woman who wants to adopt, then no court will terminate the rights of either a dad or mom just to terminate them.
