Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Youth Rights in Court

My 14 year old son wants to go to school in district where his mother resides. We share co-domicillary and the schools are in same parish. The judge will not allow child in courtroom to state his preference and mediator is costing money with counseling sessions. My ex claims the court system is denying my son's legal rights to appear in court. Can she win battle to enable my son to appear in front of judge if she pushes issue?
