Legal Question in Medical Leave in Louisiana
FMLA and Vacation
My dad has been with his company for 23 years. He recently went out on FMLA for a back injury. He is returning to work on November 10. He has a vacation scheduled for the en of November that has been scheduled for over a year. Can they take that away and tell he cannot have it if he already has plans? Also, he is in management. I don't know if that matters.

My first question is did he hurt his back at work? I assume not since he took time off under FMLA. If he used up all of his sick and annual leave, then I believe they can restrict additional time off. FMLA means his job is safe. Should he take a vacation without permission, he could lose his job.
