Legal Question in Medical Leave in Louisiana
my mother has cancer and she is hasn't walked in years and needs constant care.
Do I have to give my employer a 30 day notice before I can take an leave of absence?

You employee handbook should cover that situation, especially if you want to take paid accumulated leave. Under the FMLA, you have certain rights, but you do not want to make your boss mad. Go talk to him about it and get his input.
