Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana
In 2007 I transferred 20K into my friends account, he's a car salesman and needed the money to pick up my vehicle. I never recieved the car and he hasnt payed me my money back despite many requests. The only proof I have is my bank transfer that states the money went into his account and the teller recorded the voice transaction. I seen the car, drove the car so I know he purchased it. How do i get my money back?

You can file suit. Due to the amount of money involved, you cannot file a small claims suit. You will have to file a regular docket claim, which means you may want to hire an attorney.
Technically, what the man did is also a crime, theft by fraud. However, I seriously doubt the police would even take a report, or if the DA would press charges. They are likely to just tell you that it is a civil matter.
I agree with Mr. Lambert, but in addition, I would go to the prosecutor in your Parish and tell them the story and see if they will take theft charges. He stole your money and you may never see it again.
