my aunt is sueing me and my brother for money she spent on my dads funeral. my grandmother put in $500.00, my stepfather put in $500.00, and I put in $500.00 for the funeral. my aunt is trying to get the land that my grandad left him and his children. my brother and I have already got seccession. the land is undivided though us all. if she wins can she take the land from my brother and I.

Funeral expenses are payable from the estate. The heirs are bound to repay the money owed, or the creditors may petition the Court to have the property sold to pay the debt.

Get the lawyer who handled the succession to defend against this suit. You say how much 3 people put in for the funeral but don't say how much your Aunt put up. The cost of the funeral should have been included in the debts owed by the deceased in the succession. If she paid money for the funeral then the money is owed and she should be repaid.
