Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

My brother sexually abused me throughout my childhood up until I was about 14. He was not in my life too much after that until recently after my mother died. I tried to act like everything was fine, soon after that his wife found a letter i wrote to my mother about my brother raping me and I was called a liar and now my brother is trying to push me out of my inheritance. My life has been a disaster for obvious reasons and he has been very successful. Is it too late for me to bring a civil suit against him? I have proof in a hand written letter from my mother to me that she knew he molested me. Please advise me of any rights I may or may not have in the state of Louisiana.

The time limitation is relaxed in these crimes. You don't give much time information but the time doesn't start till you are 18.
