What is considered slander and what can be done if committed against someone??

Slander is the intentional and malicious saying of something which the person saying knows to be untrue and which causes harm to the reputation of the person who is the target. It must be said aloud to someone other than the target and certain others. There must be evidence of what was said, who said it, that it was untrue, intentional and malicious and that it caused actual harm. If all of this is present then you have an tort action for personal injury.
