Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana
My cousin just sold a piece of homemade folk art to a man who admired a piece that was hanging on her porch. She is not licensed, is not professional and has no gallery. He paid her in full, in cash. After hanging the piece in his home, the art fell off of his wall and damaged his TV. He is now harrassing her demanding she pay for the TV. Is she liable?

If he hung it in his home, knowing how sturdy his walls were and how strong the hardware was is his responsibility. She is only responsible for the things she did.

No, unless your cousin was negligent in the hanging on the wall.....or guaranteed it would never fall.......sounds silly but if he did either, he is liable.
