Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana
My daughter's fiancee called off the wedding and about $14,000.00 was spent. In Louisiana, if the male calls off the engagement/wedding who gets the ring and can he be sued for half of the expensives.

Louisiana does not have a recoverable action for breach of promise. The ring was a gift so she can keep it. Unless he signed contracts for wedding expenses, you will recover nothing from him if you sue.
