Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

My husband bought an RV from a company and the salesman that showed us the mobile home some how obtained my husbands bank account information and is stealing money from my husbands bank account and financed a vehicle using my husbands routing number for payments. What can be done about this ? Ive already reported to sheriffs office and closed bank account but not before this employee stole almost $60,000 out my account.

First, go back to the police. Bring them whatever information you have showing that this person is the one who stole from you. If they refuse to arrest him, go up the chain of command until you get to the Chief. You can also go to the DA and ask why this criminal is not being arrested.

You can also file a civil claim against the criminal and against his employer (the company he works for), as well as the company's insurer. You may want to pursue this avenue whether he is arrested or not. If he is arrested and found guilty, the criminal court will likely order "restitution". They will order the criminal to repay the money to you. However, he may not have the money. His employer does and it appears to me that his employer has a great deal of liability. It will likely be much easier to get your money back from them, rather than the criminal they hired.
