Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

What is the law in Louisiand regarding property lines and fences. A neighbor claims that he found the property marker and my fence (which was on the property when I bought the land) is over the line? The fence has been there since the 60's or 70's.

It is possible, but not guaranteed, that you may have come to own that portion of the land by "acquisitive prescription". Because so many of the issues in this type of case depend on details unsuited to this forum, I would suggest that you contact a lawyer who practices a great deal of real estate (title transfers & mortgages) law.
