Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

how long to to get deposition done

My brother did a deposition for a case for damages.

He had agreed to do this deposition for a company he had stolen a lot of money from for settlement of another lawsuit against him where he would have a large judgment against himself. I never knew why the victims wanted this deposition because it would implicate the victim in illegal activities which gave my brother means of how to steal a large amount of funds. (From what I understand the deposition did implicate the victim in several illegal activities). Unless the victim thought my brother would lie for him in order to not have a large judgment against himself since whatever the people who the suit was against paid would go towards my brother's judgment. This deposition was done in May 2004. When the illegal activities came out in the deposition would the attorney for the other side (a bank)report these illegal activities to the proper authorities since they were very serious federal crimes? To this date brother has not received a copy of the deposition he gave. Is there anyway he can force someone to give him a copy of this deposition? And if so How? My brother is presently serving time in DOC and will be out soon. Case has come to a complete standstill since deposition.

Re: how long to to get deposition done

He should contact his attorney to get a copy, or he can order a copy from the court reporter and pay for one.
