i married a year and a half ago and had a huge wedding i didn't notice that the application we filled out was in the envelope we received from the preacher along with the marriage certficate i didn't notice until last week am i married

Yes. While the document was supposed to be returned within 10 days of the ceremony, I do not think that failing to do so would invalidate the marriage. You still had a ceremony before a licensed officiant with a valid license. You should contact the office of vital records, or wherever you purchased the license from originally and let them know what happened. They can probably just process the license now.
