Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana
unpaid loan
I loaned an ex boyfriend $1400.00 about 5 months ago, and he has not repaid the loan. The endorsed, canceled checks, with ''LOAN'' written in the memo sections, are the only proof of the loan. Can I legally get my money back? Will I need to pay legal fees,if so?

You can go to court and seek a judgment and then file the judgment and let interest accrue until it is paid. But unless you want to do this on your own, think about how likely it is that this guy will have something that can be taken to pay the debt or that he will pay it before then.
