Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana
I was wondering if I had the right to take my roommate to small claims court for a there unpaid portion of an entergy bill. Is this even worth my time to go and will I be able to sue for the entire amount that was unpaid

Yes, people sue for that all the time. You have to pay to file and to serve him, but the loser pays in small claims court, so he would have to pay you back all those court costs too. You can sue in the Justice of the Peace court where the apartment you shared is located, or in the one where he lives now. If you call the JOP court and tell them the address, they will tell you if you have the right court.
