Legal Question in Immigration Law in Louisiana

divorce

My husband went to Honduras to marry me brought me back to Louisiana and is hitting me abusing me . Immagration has sent me my temp employment card and social security card (work only) I am waiting for my interview appointment . Can I get a divorce and finish my papers?

If your marriage was valid (not just to get immigration status) you might be able to petition for your green card on your own, without any assistance from your husband. You could do this while married to him or within two years of divorcing him. Please contact me directly if you would like more information.
