Legal Question in Immigration Law in Louisiana
If an illegal alien dies in this country, what happens to the body? Will it be released to her family which are here legally? Can the decent be buried here by the family without the issuance of a death certificate (because of no social security no.)?

I know of no requirement that non-citizen bodies be deported. I'm almost certain that death certificates are done for even the unidentified, so I'm sure one can be done for this person. Tourists sometimes die. It shouldn't be very different.

The body would be released to any family member, whether or not legal and could of course be buried without a social security number.
