Legal Question in Immigration Law in Louisiana
Immigration and divorce
I was married to a H-1b holder (who cannot renew it next year) and have filed for divorce after 3 months, (discovered he only wanted green card) we filed for his ''petition to adjust permanent status'' recently. The documents were still pending when I filed for divorce. His H-1b will expire before he gets any change of status.
How does this effect his immigration status?
Can I be held accountable for signing the ''Affidavit of Support''?
What will he have to do now?

Re: Immigration and divorce
The divorce will throw a wrench into the immigration work. There isn't anything else you could do on that level.
