am an international student on student visa. My real sister is an american citizen. Can she sponsor me to get a GC. How long does it takes to get a GC ? How long does it takes to get a work permit ? What would be status during the interim period ?

Hello:

That depends what country you are from. Sibling petitions can take up to 20 years and you do not have status during that time. You should look for an employment based petition that will take far less time.
