why in an auto accident is your insurance company required to make your check payable to lein holder and you but not to the person you hitand his lein holder

Your insurance is obligated to protect their insured and the lienholder of the asset protected. They have no legal obligation to the other party.

If the money is to pay for your car then that is how they have to do it. If it is to pay for the other person's car, then they pay the money to the lien holder and the insured.
