Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
In a car accident with no insurance but not at fault
I was recently in a car accident in new orleans where a car ran a red light and i ended up crashing my car and theirs. My question is am i entitled to their insurance company giving me a settlement to repair or pay off my car? If i am not entitled to that, is it best that i file bankruptcy?

You will have to absorb the first $10,000 in damages, both to the car and your personally, before the other person's insurance is liable. So, if you total damages are $12,000, you can go after the insurance company for $2,000.
