Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
car accident vehicle total
If my car was declared total in an accident not my fault and their insurance company gave me the money for it and I kept the vehicle, can I get the vehicle repaired using my own insurance if I had full coverage?

Re: car accident vehicle total
Your Insurance Company will look for reimbursement from the at-fault driver and his insurance company. Since the at-fault insurance company paid already, they will go against you for the money to repay your insurance company. So, unless your insurance company wants to fix your car and NOT go after the at-fault person, then you can do it.....but if you lie about being paid already, then you are looking at fraud and theft charges.
